Review from K. K.

Taylor clearly has genuine care and enthusiasm for animals. Her demonstrated interest in getting to know my puppy was apparent. When we noticed things I hadn’t mentioned, she wrote down all of the details so that their relationship could improve over time. I appreciated her openness and communication. My pup is looking forward to seeing her again.

This was our first time leaving our dog at home with a sitter and we were a little nervous as he has had some bad separation anxiety in the past. He seemed to really like Taylor though! We're so glad to have found her. She also kept our home nice and clean and also took care of taking the trash out on a specific day and giving our dog his heart worm meds on a specific day without us having to worry about reminders. Photo updates were great too! Thanks, Taylor!

Taylor was a great sitter for Pituko and I will definitely hire her again! They took good care of my pup, taught him a new trick, and documented everything with great updates throughout the weekend. Pituko is looking forward to his next stay with Taylor!!

2nd Review from M. S.

Taylor is an excellent caregiver and I will continue to recommend them to others, even if that selfishly means that they won't be available when I need them haha! I trust Taylor with my dog Pituko wholeheartedly, they give great updates throughout the day and sent lots of pictures of my baby. Pituko is excited to hang out with them again!

Taylor was a great sitter for our cats. We have one with a chronic illness who can be difficult but she went above and beyond to administer meds and make sure he got some extra love. Thanks, Taylor!

Taylor was fantastic. She was incredibly patient with my stubborn 7lb Yorkie mix. She also provided me valuable insight into ways I can better train my pup. Will definitely book her again next time I’m in need of a sitter.

Not just a drop in or walk—

your furry family will get quality time spent bonding in attentive companionship.

Over 20 Years’ Experience!

Together, Taylor and her partner Marcavius have over two decades of personal experience and over five years of professional experience caring for furry, feathered, amphibious and scaled family—and more! See Taylor’s reviews on Rover!

Taylor

Jeweled Hearts’ founder, Taylor, was barely a toddler when her father brought home a large German Shepherd named Highway (in addition to other dogs and cats throughout the years). Early life experiences with Highway helped her learn early on about 1. living in concert with, and 2. creating healthy boundaries for pets. She also has worked with Wag! since 2017, as well as Doggy Lama Pet Care for a few months before COVID-19 caused massive layoffs. She now books exclusively through organic leads, references and Rover.

These experiences (along with a natural interest in absorbing all the knowledge she can about the natural world) are the reasons that Taylor excels at accommodating animals to meet them where they are. She is quite proud of the diverse experience she’s collected.

Though she is interested in caring for the entire animal spectrum, her work tends to be with tripawd, reactive and senior dogs.

Marcavius

After Marcavius left the U.S. Army Infantry, they traveled around the continental states doing agricultural work, where they learned to work with working animals—including dogs. This prepared Marcavius to help friends take care of violent and maladaptive dogs here in Oakland.

After Marcavius moved to the Bay Area, they came into an opportunity to help former "fight" dogs recover instead of facing euthanization.

Marcavius is used to being bitten and barked at, and they bring their unique experience with violent and dangerous (along with the usual normative) behaviors to the Jeweled Hearts Team!

Together, Taylor and Marc possess the skills to care for every kind of dog—as well as many other pets! Consult with us today to secure high quality care for your pets while you’re away!
